Tips for an Inclusive Field Day
As you prepare for Field Day this year, keep in mind that some students may face challenges with specific events that can leave them feeling excluded on what should be a fun and enjoyable day. We’ve provided some suggestions on how to modify activities for students with different abilities so that everyone can participate at his or her level of skill, ability and competitiveness making it a successful day for everyone!

  • Make sure the parachute grip is accessible for everyone
  • Use objects on the parachute that can be seen by all, and can be heard if needed 
  • Add peer support for movements with parachute (going under, around, holding and shaking)
  • Suggested items: SuperChute™ Parachute, Keepers! Sensory Ball Set, Beach Ball
